Ramon Crater Colors Nationl Park

Makhtesh Ramon (Ramon Crater) is a unique geological Phenomena in the Israeli desret. It was used for excavating minerals for many years, thus exposeing colorful layers of rocks. After the place was abandoned in the begining of the 2000, The Israel Nature and Parks Organiztion and the Quarries Rehabilitaion Fund undertook an extensive effort of reahbilition of the place, that involoved restoing the surface of the earth to its original state.

Our Firm, Braudo-Maoz Landscape architecture LTD, was commoisioned by the Israel Nature  and Parks Aorganiztion to design the place as a n accessible place, open to the public.Our work included designing the road system, accessible pathways, view points, shaded areas and rock gardens. We also completed rehabilitating derelict areas along the roads and the industial site.

Our work is inspired by the natual and man-made elements on site.

Since its opening , the place has become a unique attraction for visitors from all over the country and the world.
