Water. Source of life between nature, tradition and brilliance. A park for the museum of the moroccan culture and civilization of water in Marrakech

This thesis is the result of long reserches made during the intersnship at B2B Studio by Jordi Bellmunt-Agata Buscemi arquitectes, completed in Dicember 2015.

The object of this work is the realization of a park for the museum of moroccan water culture, already built, in the north of Marrakech. Morocco is a rich land, full of history and culture, with interesting antopological features and peculiar landscapes with a lot of stories to tell. The main idea is to unite all moroccan patterns and elements in a project and tell the story of men, landscapes, gardens and Morocco, in general.

It talks about uman brilliant, telling a story that find the basis in ancient times.It talks about men and their relatioship with the arid landscape, their work with the rules of nature and all the techniques used by men to find and bring life in the desert.

A long analysis was conduced about all the ancient techniques for water uptake and irrigation to create oasis and agricolture. Simultaneously, was made a study about moroccan garden culture (and islamic in general) that considers water one of main components to make a garden. Water is not just a compositive element, is much more. These reserches composed the project concept, once finished the internship. The idea is to combine landscape (like ancient palmgrove of XII century) and garden, from wild to architectural nature, crossing agricolture.
