Guangsi Lin is a professor and the associate chair of Department of Landscape Architecture of School of Architecture in South China University of Technology, and the head of Guangdong Engineering Research Center of Landscape Architecture. He received his Ph.D in Beijing Forestry University in 2007,and was the postdoctoral fellow of School of Architecture in Tsinghua University from 2009 to 2011.Then, he worked as a visiting scholar in Department of Landscape Architecture of School of Design in University of Pennsylvania from 2014-2015.He is the deputy chief editor of Landscape Architecture(ISSN 1673-1530),sponsored by the Beijing Forestry University, since 2009.
Prof. Guangsi Lin do the research in landscape planning, design, and theory, and the urbanism in the Pearl River Delta. He is the PI of two research programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC), named Theory and practice of the modernist landscapes in China (1960s-1980s) and A study on metrics and methods of social benefits assessment of urban comprehensive parks in Pearl River Delta, the investigator of the joint research projects NSFC – NWO – EPSRC named Adaptive Urban Transformation (AUT) - Territorial governance, spatial strategy and urban landscape dynamics in the Pearl River Delta, and have published more than 60 Journal and Conference articles.
