Martina van Lierop

Mrs. Martina van Lierop (female) is a Research and Teaching Associate. She graduated as landscape architect at Wageningen University, Netherlands. Her expertise is in green infrastructure planning and ecological design. Her research examines the implementation of green infrastructure in collaborative and participatory processes as well as local planning practices. Special interest in her research lies on supporting approaches, strategies and methods. She has coordinated and contributed to several international capacity-building and student workshops and projects on landscape transformations and strategic planning in, among others, China, Palestine, Poland and Russia. Martina currently works in the EU funded CONEXUS project (2020-2014) and previously coordinated a work package in the EU funded LOS_DAMA! project (2016-2019). As a research assistant at Wageningen University (2012-2014), she conducted research on sustainable strategies and the role of design in regional planning, ecosystem services in design processes, and sustainable energy landscapes in Dutch national funded projects such as DEESD (2013-2014), NWO-AESUS (2012-2014), CARE (2011-2014).
