What’s a typical healthy community like in modern China? And what’s a health-oriented community like? The fast pace of modern life has kept people indoors, so they rarely have access to nature. Since the community cannot provide the sense of belonging, emotional deficiency and sub-health status have become common problems among people. In the mountainous city Chongqing, the complex mountainous terrain brings special terrain and climate. People's living habits are closely related to the climate factors in the environment, there is a subtle confrontation between the extreme weather from time to time and the urban context. A large number of "corner lands" were left in early urban planning, which are usually larger than 0.0667 hectare but cannot be used for construction. Most of them are idle or piled with waste, compromising quality of life of surrounding residents. Through the re-use of the opposite corner, the microclimate will form a virtuous circle, confront the extreme weather with positive influence, and stimulate the possibility of people's outdoor activities and exchanges.
The transformation of these idle lands is part of the “smart growth” plan, which will optimize the urban public spaces and contribute to healthy communities and natural climate site.
In the following four years, investigations and surveys are being conducted among 30 communities and 10 thousand people. And then we will provide a participation design based on the site conditions and demands of surrounding residents. The mode of “design-implementation-operation” will endow these idle lands with new values and respond to residents’ physical and psychological demands. With the idea of “Green Daily Dosage”, the renovation of these idle lands and urban spaces will improve the well-being of the residents.
In landscape design, adhere to the principle of stimulating urban vitality and the possibility of outdoor communication. The cool climate is the core condition of the city's outdoor environment. The suitability of temperature is the most living natural feature of the land. We use the original vegetation to form the micro environment of the park, and use the site under the shade to carry out the design of function and vitality first. -6 ℃ shade theme, community sports park, landscape design using cold color system pavement, cool rest facilities and thermometer signs and other design techniques. Two years after the formation of the park, the measured temperature of the site is 5 ℃ - 10 ℃ lower than that of the surrounding sunshine. Therefore, the park has gained a sense of identity and participation from many residents, and formed a good interaction and sports experience.

In 2018, Chongqing Municipal Government authorized Longfor, China’s Top 5 real estate developer, and the design team LISM to conduct the transformation of the corner lands and the renovation of the urban public spaces using the mode of EPC+O (Engineer, Procure, Construction + Operation).
