¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ …an S.O.S.REthink

¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ is a deep reseach on sustainability, natural resources, bio agriculture, enviroment and soil preservation, designing a new type of ephemeral residential architecture where its main living space is organised by nature.

¨Edible landscaping¨ is a term for an old idea what can help to preserve our enviroment and ecosystems. Agriculture, gardens, orchards, all of them can transform landscapes "edible" again. ¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ introduces wild nature, ecosystem and healthy food at home, combining at the same time natural landscape, bio agriculture and sustainable architecture.

¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ is based on  Gilles Clément´s theory ¨The Garden in Motion¨.

Inside ¨The Garden in Motion¨ natural energies - growth, struggle, shifting, exchange, etc… do not encounter the obstacles usually set up to oblige nature to yield to geometry, to tidiness, or any other cultural principal.  These energies encounter in ¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ the architect-gardener in motion, who tries to do as much as possible for and as little as possible against.

Based on this idea, ¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ is a bio agricultural parcel where it is posible to live outside, between nature and its life cycles. ¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ is also an orchard left behind to the unhindered development of those plants that settle there throughout the seasons; wild plants, endemic plants, fruit trees and other food plants grown up from the bio agricultural activity.

Placing a series of minimun-furniture into an agricultural plot,¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ shows how it is posible create open living spaces to enjoy a new way of life inside the nature. Free spaces are the most important part of this landscape house. This type of house becomes an ¨outside-inside¨ landscape. An inhabitable and undetermined fragment of the Planetary Garden can be the new home where human being lives free inside the nature and lives outside among fragrances, forms, textures, and colors of plants. Trees, vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs, birds, bees and other insects contribute with many healthy benefits to the human being live. The new roof for this house is the sky (sun, moon, stars...)

¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨ goes back to the original house of the human being; ¨Nature¨. This is a green contribution to the future of our planet; It is a new way of thinking; it is …an S.O.S.REthink

Other details about the Project

·          After eight (8) years cultivating with bio agriculture techniques, applying also ¨the garden in motion¨ theory, Biodiversity has 

successfully returned to the plot.

·          It is possible to have every day bio fruits and bio medicinal herbs at home.

·          The existing drip irrigation system is also adapted for the ¨Bio Edible Landscape House¨.

·          Natural wastewater treatment designed in order to re-use wastewater in services, such as drip irrigation.

.          Electrical system is based on solar powered devices.

·          Composting dry Toilet.

·          All the elements come from recycled materials.

·          Organic / biodegradable health care products and organic / biodegradable cleaning products are only used.
