Arquitecto de la 1ª promoción de la UGR (2000), e investigador desde su graduación en el Laboratorio de Urbanismo y Ordenación del Territorio de la UGR. Doctor en Urbanismo por esta universidad (2009) con la tesis "La travesía más transparente. La visión de Córdoba, Málaga y Granada desde su calle ciudad". Ha sido invitado por varias universidades europeas como la Universidad Técnica de Lisboa, la FAUP de Oporto, Roma Tre, la Aristotle Univeristy de Thessaloniki, Faculty of Architecture de Belgrado (Serbia) o Banja Luka (BiH).
