Antonio Farina, born on June 13, 1955, runs an architecture firm in Naples and teaches architectural design at the Faculties of Architecture in Naples and Syracuse.
From 1984 to 1995, he was engaged in research and teaching activities in the Architectural Composition course held by Prof. Salvatore Bisogni, officially appointed as a “subject expert” (cultore della materia) by resolution of the Faculty Council on May 19, 1984.
He has conducted research in architectural and urban design in several contexts:

At the C.N.R. (National Research Council) as a foreign research fellow in collaboration with the Unité Pédagogique d’Architecture in Marseille, focusing on "Comparative Analysis of Urban Structures in Major Port Cities on the Western Shores of the Mediterranean Basin";

In Italy, as part of the Progetto Finalizzato per l’Edilizia (Targeted Project for Building), serving in 1989 as an external consultant for the research “The Economic Congruity of Urban Renewal” directed by Prof. Virginia Gangemi and specifically contributing to the typological-architectural studies under the scientific supervision of Prof. Salvatore Bisogni;

As a consultant for the City of Naples (Plan of the Hundred Stations) and for I.A.C.P. (Istituto Autonomo per le Case Popolari) on the feasibility study for Rione San Gaetano.
He has taken part in numerous national and international architectural competitions, receiving awards and recognitions, including:

1987 – Winner of the National Competition for the Design of Piazza Pace in Boscoreale (Naples), in collaboration

May 1990 – Winner of the Luigi Cosenza Architecture Prize (Best Unbuilt Project category) for the UNESCO-sponsored competition for the reconstruction of the Library of Alexandria, Egypt, acting as team leader of the design group

1998–99 – Winner of the Ideas Competition for the construction of a parking garage at the Monaldi Hospital in Naples (in collaboration), and awarded a mention in the competition for the revitalization of the Arco del Sacramento area in the historic center of Benevento
In October 1993, he was awarded a PhD in Architectural Composition, with a dissertation titled “Form and Construction of the Seaside City” (Advisors: Prof. S. Bisogni and Prof. A. Monestiroli).
In 1994, he received a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Department of Architectural and Environmental Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Naples.
His work has been published in major international architecture journals, for example he was elected for the Casabella Almanac: Young Italian Architects 1997–98.
