Architect with a doctorate in architecture; Architectural projects professor at the UPC and Director of the Càtedra Blanca de Barcelona. Doctorate Honoris Causa from the Università degli Studi di Trieste. Set up the Office of Architecture in Barcelona (OAB) in 2006. Premio Nacional de Arquitectura 2009 for a career in architecture. Awarded include: four Premis FAD, the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona in 1999 and 2008, the International Brunel Award for Architecture 2005, the Premio BigMat 2009, the Premio Ciudad de Madrid, the Premio Nacional de Arquitectura Española 2001, and the Premio Década 2006. Works include: three blocks in Barcelona’s Olympic Village, the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, the Botanical Garden of Barcelona, the Intermodal Train Station of Saragossa, the Mediapro building in Barcelona, the Aquileia building in Venice, the Science Park of Granada, the Platja de Ponent Seafront Promenade in Benidorm (first prize in the VIII Premis Ceràmica ASCER).
