Edgar Mazo

Graduated as an architect in 2003 from the Faculty of Architecture at the National University of Colombia (UNAL). Candidate for a Master's degree in Modern Architecture from the same university (2005-2006). In 2023, with the Prado neighborhood park project, he was selected as a finalist for the MCHAP Mies Crown Hall American Prize. With the same project in 2022, he won the XXVIII Colombian Architecture and Urbanism Biennial in the urban design and landscaping category, the XXIII Pan-American Architecture Biennial of Quito Pan-American Award in the public space category, the V Latin American Landscape Architecture Biennial, and the XII Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennial BIAU Panorama works. In 2021, as co-director of Connatural, he won the international Holcim Gold Award for sustainable architecture in the Latin America category and Silver in the global category with the project for the Jaboque wetland in the city of Bogotá. In 2018, he won first place at the Latin American Landscape Biennial of Mexico in the unbuilt work category with the La Asomadera Park in the city of Medellín. In 2012, as co-author of the publication Archipiélago de Arquitectura, he received first place in the publications category at the Colombian Architecture Biennial. In 2010, he was in the top 10 finalists for the Iakov Chernikhov Prize. He obtained first place in public competitions: Lost Lines Calgary - Canada in 2015, Civic Center of Medellín in the Cerro La Asomadera component in 2014, Renovation of El Campín Stadium in 2011, Aquatic Complex for the IX South American Games in 2010.
