Fred Liao is the founder and director of PLAT Studio, a multi-disciplinary practice focused on largescale landscape and urbanism. Originally from Taipei, he settled in beautiful Northern California with his family after spending time on the East Coast. Fred has extensive experience in both North America and Asia, across a wide range of project types and scales. His work revolves around a rigorous design process, to investigate site potentials culturally, ecologically, and economically for timeless placemaking and a more sustainable world. He holds a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed landscape architect in New York, Pennsylvania, and a LEED AP
