This site is located in the south of Zengcheng downtown Guangzhou. It is a new district of city planning. The site used to be a low-lying land with pondsthe total aera is 467haand the design area is 60ha. The surrounding area will be used for office and residential buildings with a huge number of hardened areas.

Our design was based on the site conditions, used low cost construction and maintenance to create a natural, idyllic, healthy and leisure place in an ecological city. it also provides a good solution to the urban Rain and flood management at the same time.

DESIGN CONCEPT

With the principles of natural, simplicity, low price and ecology, we try to respect the layout of the original landforms and water system as much as possible. c to create a pleasant landscape with the most concise design techniques and try to fit the characteristics of the land.

HIGHLIGHTS

Regulating function combined with the municipal function:  Lake Gualv is the upstream of the mother river in the city. We set up a drain pipe upstream to implement rainfall-sewage separation. The lake could gather rainwater in the surrounding area, the water could go downstream after preliminary purification .  It plays a key role for the regional water resource management and it also ensures the urban area not to be affected by floods.

It combined the city beautification function and ecological protection: In the process of project design and construction, we combine the fields, lakes and forest to form the large ecological park in the center of the city which could be seen as an good example for the combination of urban construction and ecological protection. The ecological lake area reserves the original part of the wetland and well growing plant community, as a natural succession area.  it providing an important guarantee for the conservation of urban biodiversity by optimizing the lakeshore line, setting ecological island and other measures

The project is not only makes the city away from flood , but also saves the local biodiversity, on the other hand,, it creates a comfortable and pleasant living environment for the citizens, the urban construction and ecological protection can be harmoniously symbiotic. It also contribute to the development of nature and the city.
