WOLONG NATURE RESERVE DUJIANGYAN GIANT PANDA RESCUE AND DISEASE CONTROL CENTER

WOLONG NATURE RESERVE DUJIANGYAN GIANT PANDA RESCUE AND DISEASE CONTROL CENTER

As one of the most sensitive indicator species for climate change, giant pandas have extremely strict requirements on climate and environment in their living and habitat. The project explores the relationship between the natural landscape and the site, rationally utilizes the natural resources of the original residential site, vegetation, water system, etc., combined with the topography and climatic characteristics of Dujiangyan, according to the functions and process requirements of giant panda rescue and disease control Build the mass of the building into the original ecological environment to form a "forest disk" texture. The design aims to "micro-damage" the original climate environment, retain farmland farming scenes and original water system wetland systems, and use existing gullies and wetlands as rainwater storage tanks. After treatment, the rainwater can be used as reclaimed water for irrigation of green spaces, road and square flushing, panda animal house ground flushing, etc. The utilization rate of non-traditional water sources can reach 60.3%. At the same time, attention has been paid to the use of recycled materials. The whole brick part of the abandoned bricks in the site is used as a sound insulation wall, and the broken brick part is used as a road cushion in the park. The amount of slag bricks accounts for the total construction bricks. 41.45%. All roads in the park are paved with permeable concrete, and the outdoor permeable ground area ratio is 82.5%, which maximizes the maintenance of the groundwater balance of the original site. In addition, the giant panda is a solitary animal. In the planning and design of the animal house, the animal house is closely integrated with the natural environment to conserve the native natural forest. In addition, the project itself has zero damage to the climate and the positive improvement measures taken, creating a more Natural habitat close to wild pandas.

After the project is completed, it will become a model for post-disaster aid construction. As a visiting base for "Hong Kong Youth Development-Sichuan Social Service and Sports Experience Program", Taiwan Youth Experience Camp, Sichuan-Hong Kong Student Summer Camp, Hong Kong and Macau Youth Cultural Experience Camp and many other public science education activities. At present, the base has become an important foreign affairs reception platform for the China Giant Panda Conservation Research Center, completing major international diplomatic reception activities in more than 50 countries.

The project is located in Shiqiao Village, Qingchengshan Town, Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province. The base is bordered by Qingchengshan Ring Road and 106 Provincial Highway in the east, and surrounded by mountains in the west. The forest coverage rate is over 90%. Wolong Nature Reserve Dujiangyan Giant Panda Rescue and Disease Prevention and Control Center is a project invested and built by the Hong Kong SAR government after the Wenchuan 5.12 earthquake. It is the world's first panda hospital, and it also has giant panda disease treatment, rehabilitation, disease research, and popular science education. Features. The project design implements the green building concept with the least resource consumption in the "full life cycle", and has obtained the design and operation logo of Samsung for green building.
