A nature park on the banks of the Clain

The development of the Tison islet is part of a vast urban redevelopment program undertaken for several years in the city of Poitiers. A new stage is reached with the requalification of the Tison islet, an actual reconquest of this riverside space on the banks of the Clain. This site has become a place of relaxation for the Poitevins and a new link between the Trois Cités district, the Mérigotte district and the city center. The project is organized around a large rectangular central “events” meadow, around which the new spaces are organized: the private gardens, the parking space, the orchard of old fruit trees, the equipped banks, the esplanade of the sawmill and its hall, the private taverns.

The sober and contemporary footbridge crosses the Clain to show its banks. It allows pedestrians and cycles to connect the two banks. Its innovative structure placed on floats can withstand floods.
