As a conclusion of the 11th Barcelona International Biennial of Landscape Architecture, a visit to the territory is organized to learn about projects of architectural and landscape interest in the city of Barcelona and its surroundings.
The cycling route will allow you to learn about the main developments in terms of urban landscape treatment that have been carried out recently in Barcelona. We highlight two relevant spaces:
- We will start in the street of Bolivia (Poblenou) where a “rewild” proposal has been made that allows vegetation to invade practically the entire public space. A single concrete pavement has been chosen on a single level, leaving only 5 meters of road. The rest is occupied by low maintenance shrub vegetation and the few pre-existing trees, located at the usual distance of 5 meters from the façade alignment.
- We will end up on the roof of the Porxos d'en Xifré (Ciutat vella), a group of buildings under renovation where the construction of a green roof was carried out in 2019. The work was projected and directed by Sergio Carratalá, who will be there to carry out the explanation. The route will be as follows: Meeting point at 10:00 am at the intersection of Carrer Bolivia and Carrer de Fluvià, in Poblenou - Mountain side of Gran Via - Glòries Park - Meridiana Avenue - Ciutadella Park - Porxos d'en Xifré. It is estimated that the last point will be reached at 12:00, so that an in-depth visit to the roofs d’en Xifré can be made. An approximate map of the route is attached. The route will be carried out in accordance with the health recommendations of COVID-19. Limited places.
It will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
