Is one of the founders of OKRA. In his work the accent lies on leading designprocesses in combination with the realization of larger innercity projects. The station surrounding of Enschede is in itself an example, a project which is accompanied from concept until realization. He is mostly active in leading complex projects in urban and landscape development projects on a wide range of design assignments. These vary from abstract plans and long term visions and realization strategies for the development of urban spaces to detailed designs for spatial organization. The emphasis within this package is on the realization of urban developments. Christ-Jan van Rooij has been teaching at several educational institutes. He has taught at the Academie van Bouwkunst in Amsterdam, de Agricultural University of Wageningen (International Course Landscape architecture), School of Arts Utrecht and the Van Hall, Larenstein Institute in Velp.
