Architects. Ramon Vilalta - Rafael Aranda - Carme Pigem
They completed their studies at the ETSAV in 1987 and have been working together since 1988 as RCR ARQUITECTES in Olot. They have served as advisers to the La Garrotxa Volcanic Area Natural Park since 1989. Vilalta has worked as a lecturer in Urban Development and Landscape Architecture at the ETSAV. Pigem has lectured in Projects at the ETSAV and ETSAB and is currently a lecturer in Landscape Projects on the Landscaping graduate course at the ETSAB. They have won several competitions Spain-wide and have received recognition for their work on numerous occasions, with two of their projects shortlisted as finalists in the European Union Mies van der Rohe Awards. They have also won five FAD prizes and the 2005 National Prize for Culture in Architecture awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya. They have shown work in numerous international exhibitions, including the third Salon International de l’Architecture in Paris, the eighth UIA Congress in Chicago and the Venice Biennale. Individual exhibitions of their work have been held in Japan, Spain and Germany. Their work appears in the “On-Site: New Architecture in Spain” exhibition currently on public view in New York. They have written essays and articles on architecture and the landscape and have given talks in various cities in Spain and abroad. In addition, their work has been widely published in books and journals.
