Architect from ETSAB since 1982. Since the beginning his career has been running along two parallel paths: the professional and the academic. Member of the Department of Urban Planning and Land Management of the UPC since 1982, professor at various foreign universities, including Harvard University and the IUAV of Venice. Co-founded Ruisánchez-Vendrell in 1988 and set up Ruisánchez Arquitectes in 1997 where he has created several award-winning works and won numerous landscape, planning, and building competitions. In 2008 he won as leader of an international multidisciplinary team the first prize of the ideas competition for the management of the “Eixample Nord” sector in the municipality of Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, with Serra-Vives- Cartagena Architects. In the same year he won, with Francesc Bacardit, the competition for the rehabilitation of the old Fabra i Coats building in Sant Andreu, Barcelona, making it a container of cultural production. His work is widely disseminated in media and publications both nationally and internationally.
