Lecturers
Eulàlia Gómez-Escoda is an architect (ETSAB) and holds a PhD in Urbanism (UPC-Barcelona TECH).
She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Urbanism, Territory and Landscape (DUTP) of the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB-UPC), where she has been teaching and researching since 2008 and has been the Deputy Director of International Relations since 2021.
She has been invited to teach at international schools such as KU Leuven School of Architecture, Universiteit Antwerpen, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts KADK, German University in Cairo, Universidad Mayor de Santiago de Chile, TEC de Monterrey in Mexico and the Graduate School of Planning and Preservation GSAPP at Columbia University. She was a design critic at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University (autumn 2019).
She has collaborated with Ruisánchez Arquitectes and BAU Arquitectura i Urbanisme on urban design and public space projects throughout Europe.
She is co-author of research works related to Barcelona, such as Barcelona Metropolis (preliminary work and analysis for the development of the new Metropolitan Urban Master Plan, DHUB 2014-2015) or Cerdà and the Barcelona of the Future. Reality vs. Project (commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Eixample Cerdà, CCCB 2009). Her research has been presented at international conferences and published in the Journal of Urban History, the Journal of Urban Design and Urban Planning, among others.

Tim Waterman is Professor of Landscape Theory and Acting Director of Architecture History and Theory at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.
He is Chair of the Landscape Research Group (LRG), a Non-Executive Director of the digital arts collective Furtherfield, and an advisor to the Centre for Landscape Democracy of the Landscape and Spatial Planning Institute at NMBU in Norway.
He is the author of The Landscape of Utopia: Writings on Everyday Life, Taste, Democracy, and Design and editor of Landscape Citizenships with Ed Wall and Jane Wolff, Landscape and Agency: Critical Essays with Ed Wall, and the Routledge Handbook of Landscape and Food with Joshua Zeunert. His writing has appeared in a variety of journals including the Journal of Architecture, Garden Design Journal, Utopian Studies, and Landscape Architecture Magazine. His brother is the experimental musician, writer, and producer Alex Waterman.
Professor of Landscape Theory The Bartlett School of Architecture
Bruno Marques is the president of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), a registered landscape architect and a university educator. He completed his Landscape Architecture studies at the University of Lisbon (PT) and Berlin Technical University (DE), followed by his PhD studies at the University of Otago (NZ). He has practised in Germany, Estonia, the United Kingdom and Aotearoa-New Zealand, having an extensive portfolio of built projects.
During the past nine years he has developed a comprehensive research agenda to embrace the formulation of frameworks on landscape rehabilitation, cultural landscapes, place-making and Indigenous community health and wellbeing at Victoria University of Wellington in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
He currently is the Associate Dean for the Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation at Victoria University of Wellington and the immediate past Head of the Landscape Architecture Department. Professionally, he has been a long-standing contributor to IFLA since 2008.

Walter is the Creative Director and Founder of Hood Design Studio in Oakland, California. Hood Design Studio is his tripartite practice, working across art + fabrication, design + landscape, and research + urbanism. He is also a professor of landscape architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and lectures on professional and theoretical projects nationally and internationally. Walter designs and creates urban spaces and objects that are public sculpture. Believing everyone needs beauty in their life, he makes use of everyday objects to create new apertures through which to see the surrounding emergent beauty, strangeness, and idiosyncrasies of urban space. His ideas emerge from years of studying and practicing architecture, landscape architecture, and fine arts, and yet Walter tactfully eschews from differentiating between the three on any one project. His projects also highlight. The Studio’s award winning work has been featured in publications including Dwell, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fast Company, Architectural Digest, Places Journal, and Landscape Architecture Magazine. Walter Hood is also a recipient of the 2017 Academy of Arts and Letters Architecture Award.
Jordi Sardà, 1951. Architect by the ETSAB-UPC, in 1982 post graduate in Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture in 1984. DUOT teacher of all courses of Planning and Landscape Theory and History of Master Degree of Landscape Architecture (MUP). He also teaches in Public Space and is responsible for the Final Master Thesis of Master of Landscape Architecture (MAP). Between 2007 and 2014 until present, professor of Projects and Urbanism of the EAR, at URV. His doctoral thesis “Només Imatges. La targeta postal vehicle de coneixement urbà”, investigates the relationships and capabilities of visual images-postcards to establish a collective reading of landscape and city. From his studio of Reus works in architecture, urbanism and landscape projects and intervention in the built heritage buildings and in the city.
Architect and landscape architect, member of the Departament d’Urbanisme i Ordenació del Territori de la UPC, professor of Landscape Architecture in ETSAV (1982-1992), Master of Landscape in UPC since 1991 and of urbanism (degree) in ETSAB since 1992. He has been a visiting professor at Washington University in St. Louis, GSD Harvard University and Facoltà di Architettura di Venezia, IUAV. He is currently Member of Culture of the Governing Board of the COAC, a member of LUB and AxA. He has been president of the international jury of the V Biennial of Landscape Barcelona and finalist in II and VI editions. Founding partner of Ruisánchez Arquitectes, working on Landscape Architecture, Urbanism and Architecture projects, he has been recognized with several awards including: Fad Architecture Prize in 1997, Catalonia Construction Award, 2005 Catalonia Social Housing Award 2007 Technal Architecture Prize in 2008, Barcelona City Award, Architecture and Urbanism 2012.
