Skating rink at the former Nou Park football pitch
This is a new sports facility for inline speed skating, located on the site of the former Nou Park football pitch, on Prat de Llobregat’s Ronda Sud ring road.
The new facility is located at the same height as the old football pitch, one metre below the level of the park, in order to preserve all the trees, as well as the existing routes and paths surrounding the project area.
The changing rooms are laid out in a line, running parallel to the walkway under plane trees, where the entrance for the public and skaters is located, on one of the park’s entrance routes.
An outdoor porch with plant cover, where photovoltaic panels will also be installed, protects the spectators and athletes from the sun and rain, and facilitates circulation towards the changing rooms or to exit to the training and competition rink.
The building has a structure of prefabricated concrete beams and joists, and a ceramic bridle joint that will be left exposed and will allow the installations to pass through the space between the beams.
Inside the 200-metre track, there is a multi-use area and a lawn, which extends outside the ring, accompanied by shrubs.
Finally, the sports complex is enclosed by a perimeter fence that surrounds it and is part of the façades of the changing rooms building, with shrubs and climbing plants that will facilitate its integration into the park in the future.
