James Melsom

 

James Melsom is Senior Lecturer in Landscape Architecture at the University of Technology Sydney, working in research, teaching and supervision. He has developed a specialization in the deployment of on-site technologies such as UAV/Drone usage terrestrial laser scanning, Surveying, Sensors, Remote Sensing, GIS and the development of design tools and techniques. He is also a practicing Landscape Architect consulting to offices and collaborating in projects throughout Europe as member of the BSLA (Swiss Institute of Landscape Architects). As co-founder of the research laboratory LANDSKIP with Ilmar Hurkxkens he has worked throughout the world on landscape scanning, research, analysis and transformation projects. From 2007 to 2017 he worked as a research scientist and teacher at the Institute of Landscape Architecture, ETH Zurich, and co-founder of the LVML - Landscape Visualisation and Modelling Lab. Since 2019 he is a Senior Lecturer in Landscape Architecture at the UTS Sydney. Co-founder LANDSKIP Lab - landskip.ch
