Graduate at Arquitetura e Urbanismo from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1983), master’s at Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1997) and ph.d. at Fundaments of the Urban and Regional Planning from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2002). Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Professor at the Graduate Program in Urbanism (PROURB-FAU/UFRJ), having held the position of Coordinator of the Professional Master in Landscape Architecture. Has experience in Architecture and Urbanism, focusing on Urban History, acting on the following subjects: urban planning, urban form and favelas.
