Lybedsky Boulevard Revitalization: From Gorky Street to «Spartak» Stadium
Concept
Lybedsky Boulevard, Ryazan’s primary green "artery," is a unique protected natural landscape. Historically, the Lybed River flowed here until the mid-20th century when it was channeled underground. Stretching from the Ryazan Kremlin to the Central Park of Culture and Leisure, the boulevard became a key anchor for the city’s "Grand Pedestrian Route," catalyzing its revitalization.
This segment — between Gorky Street and Spartak Stadium — transforms into a recreational hub within the city-wide pedestrian network, blending heritage with modernity. It now features:
- Pedestrian promenades
- Cycling paths
- Children’s play areas
- A sports complex (skate-plaza, pump track)
- Leisure zones
The redesign has turned the boulevard into a dynamic civic attractor, drawing both locals (especially youth through extreme sports facilities) and tourists exploring Ryazan’s historic core.
