The Unbound Amsterdam is an adventurous city escape at the edge of Amsterdam. A natural wilderness, programmed with wellness facilities, giving room to luxurious lodges and an exclusive hotel, creating space for ultimate well-being in close proximity to the city. This adventurous site – where the city meets nature – is equipped for various uses, entertaining guests and visitors, but at the same time contributing to a diverse landscape and types of vegetation.
Felixx created a lush natural environment, by diversifying the topography: a pond, wetlands, and hills. This generates conditions for diverse types of vegetation, organically structuring the area in different rooms. A large tree marks the entrance that leads to the hotel, situated next to a small lake. Sauna and canoeing facilities are located in the water, separated by a bridge that connects the hotel to the lodge forest. Different tiny houses are centred around a community building, providing optimal privacy on the individual terraces.
Only a small part of the available land area was needed for the buildings. The remaining part could be arranged as a communal nature garden. The cabins lie alongside a serene pond and between them, nature can take its course. The excavated soil from the pond was used to create a hilly landscape. The lush natural environment, with over 365 trees, is totally integrated with the surrounding landscape. The plant scheme was adapted to the local plantation, corresponding with the polder landscape surrounding the area. Organic fruit and vegetable gardens provide locally produced organic and healthy food for the restaurant on site, reducing transport and decreasing carbon footprint, all contributing to a healthier and happier planet.
The ecological values of this big green expanse that encroaches on the city are aimed to strengthen biodiversity & climate change adaptation for a more resilient Amsterdam and a welcoming natural place of retreat for its inhabitants.

The Unbound Amsterdam es una escapada aventurera a la ciudad en las afueras de la ciudad de Ámsterdam. Un desierto natural, programado con instalaciones de bienestar, dando lugar a lujosos alojamientos y un hotel exclusivo, creando un espacio para el máximo bienestar en las proximidades de la ciudad. Este sitio aventurero, donde la ciudad se encuentra con la naturaleza, está equipado para diversos usos, entreteniendo a huéspedes y visitantes, pero al mismo tiempo contribuye a un paisaje y tipos de vegetación diversos.
Felixx creó un entorno natural exuberante, diversificando la topografía: un estanque, humedales y colinas. Esto genera condiciones para diversos tipos de vegetación, estructurando orgánicamente el área en distintas estancias. Un gran árbol marca la entrada que conduce al hotel, situado junto a un pequeño lago. Las instalaciones de sauna y piragüismo están ubicadas en el agua, separadas por un puente que conecta el hotel con el bosque del albergue. Diferentes tiny-houses se centran alrededor de un edificio comunitario, proporcionando una privacidad óptima en las terrazas individuales.
Solo se necesitó una pequeña parte de la superficie disponible para los edificios. La parte restante podría organizarse como un jardín natural comunitario. Las cabañas se encuentran junto a un estanque sereno y entre ellas, la naturaleza puede seguir su curso. El suelo excavado del estanque se utilizó para crear un paisaje montañoso. El exuberante entorno natural, con más de 365 árboles, está totalmente integrado con el paisaje circundante. El esquema de la planta se adaptó a la plantación local, en correspondencia con el paisaje de pólder que rodea el área. Los huertos de frutas y verduras orgánicas proporcionan alimentos orgánicos y saludables producidos localmente para el restaurante en el lugar, lo que reduce el transporte y disminuye la huella de carbono, todo lo cual contribuye a un planeta más saludable y feliz.
Los valores ecológicos de esta gran extensión verde que invade la ciudad tienen como objetivo fortalecer la biodiversidad y la adaptación al cambio climático para una Ámsterdam más resistente y un lugar natural acogedor de retiro para sus habitantes.
