IS_LAB, islands as laboratories of the Anthropocene, is a line of research of the Urscapes group of the University Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Development (TIDES) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). IS_LAB, which has been developing research; teaching; and international dissemination since 2017. From the ULPGC, the projects developed within the framework of the Landscape Architecture subject (Code 43950) of the Architecture degree are presented to this call. These projects are developed in island environments, taking into account the limits of their environmental conditions as ideal study laboratories for the challenges of climate change and their potential applicability in continental environments. In the 2020-21 academic year, the IS_LAB/LAL workshop developed the coastal theme of the Village of San Nicolás in Gran Canaria; In the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years, IS_LAB/ACE focused on the restoration of the Naos salt fl ats on the Arrecife coastline of Lanzarote. Meanwhile, IS_LAB/TKO III developed strategies for the Breakwaters Central Landfi ll Island in Tokyo Bay in the 2023-24 academic year.
