The project proposal starts from the idea to create a Path of Adriatic lighthouses, which connects 40 monumental lighthouses especially selected basing on architectural relevance and landscape value. A multimodal path that starts from Capo Santa Maria di Leuca and ends on the Corfu island, two points that mark Adriatic Sea entrance.
The project in Leuca creates a relationship between the individual parts, interpreting with their forms the physical ones of the territory. Beyond the facade of an ancient seaside holiday camp, a double L system with two arms hooking to the ground, becoming an integral part of it through a system of terraces on one level. Here is the "Museum of the Adriatic Sea". Moreover, Leuca Lighthouse assumes an accommodation function with a Wellness Center at the hypogeal level. The gradual difference in height from the lighthouse towards the point becomes a terrace open to the sea.
About Corfù, intervention aim is to cobble the strategic parts of the island-fortress, respecting the pre-existing architectural value. The new tourist port arm takes on a new form, practicable on two walks that run parallel to two different altitudes. Here there are boating and sailing functions, commercial activities and restaurants. A wooden tower connects the port's share with the first part of the fortification. In the lighthouse area the intervention consists of the connection of intermediate levels between the port's share and the share of the lighthouse and the expansion of the hypogeous spaces, reconstructing a deep relationship with the earth.
