Tim Waterman és professor de Teoria del Paisatge i Director Interí d'Història de l'Arquitectura i Teoria a la Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.
És president del Grup de Recerca Paisatgística (LRG), director no executiu del col·lectiu d'arts digitals Furtherfield, i assessor del Centre de Democràcia Paisatgística del Landscape and Spatial Planning Institute a NMBU a Noruega.
És autor de The Landscape of Utopia: Writings on Everyday Life, Taste, Democracy, and Design i editor de Landscape Citizenships with Ed Wall and Jane Wolff, Landscape and Agency: Critical Essays with Ed Wall, i el Routledge Handbook of Landscape and Food with Joshua Zeunert. Els seus escrits han aparegut en una varietat de revistes com Journal of Architecture, Garden Design Journal, Utopian Studies i Landscape Architecture Magazine. El seu germà és el músic experimental, escriptor i productor Alex Waterman.
