Paolo L. Bürgi is a swiss landscape architect and professor at the University of Pennsylvania, at the IUAV di Venezia and at the Politecnico Milano. He won several prizes in international competitions such as: CERN, Switzerland, ‘Helsinki Toolonlathi Parks’, Finland or ‘Carso 2014+’, Italy. Bürgi has presented papers at conferences in Canada, USA, Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Korea, China and throughout Europe. His work is published in a wide range of literature. In 2003 he received the ‘European Landscape Award Rosa Barba’ for the Cardada project and the ‘Die Besten 03 Bronze Award’ for the ‘Seashore Kreuzlingen’. The project for the ‘Open-air Museum’ in Gorizia’s Karst is exposed at the Biennale di Architettura di Venezia 2018, Italian Pavilion.
