Born in Badalona in 1965. Toni Gironès qualified as an architect at the ETSAV-UPC, where he has been visiting lecturer (1993-99), part-time lecturer in Projects (2000-05) and a mem-ber of the end-of-course jury (2004-05). He has been invited lecturer at various schools of architecture: in Barcelona, Argentina and Italy. He is currently head of Architectural Education at the URV and lecturer in Projects and Graphic Expression I and II at the School of Architecture in Reus (URV). He has had a professional practice since 1993. He has won several prizes (AJAC Young Architects Prize 1996, Girona Architecture Prize 1998) and numerous distinctions (Bonaplata Prizes, F. Borromini International Prize, European Landscape Biennial, FAD Prizes, Spanish Architecture Biennial). Work published in the specialist press: AITIM, Dau, Quaderns, Tectónica, Pasajes, On, Arquitectura Ibérica, Spazio e società. Doctoral thesis: ‘Spontaneous Architectures: Reflections on constants in Architecture’, 1999.
