WATERSCAPE DESIGN PROJECT_ CANAL DE CASTILLA IN VALLADOLID (SPAIN) _ AREA 3

ARCHITECTURAL COMPOSITION V: CONTEMPORARY GARDEN AND LANDSCAPE

University of Valladolid

The proposal consists of a linear park which is structured from 3 mobility axes, parallel to the canal of Castilla, which are connected from perpendicular axes, strategically located to generate a variety of routes within the park, proposing more diverse routes within the space. On the other hand, a perimeter route is suggested that crosses a large part of the park, taking as points of interest the residential zone adjacent to the park, the bridge, and the viewpoint proposed by the working group in the upper rural area, which has a great view of the canal and the urban landscape in order to provide another less linear route alternative.

On the other hand, in the interior of the park, mixed-use spaces are incorporated, which are light roof modules for the development of recreational activities, in the same way it is proposed to work with different textures of the floor using different types of grass and vegetation, which look like longitudinal strips that are located between the different axes of mobility. Finally, the intervention area is increased by taking a large part of the area that is located next to the road and the bridge so that the route of this linear park culminates in a much larger and wider green area, functioning as a transitional space from an urban landscape to a rural one.
