On floating paths - Revival of the manor house Lübzin and the surrounding park
Major project - Water as a design element in historical structures
Hochschule Neubrandenburg - University of Applied Sciences
The design deals with the planning challenge of partially reconstructing and partially reinterpreting an open space in a listed context. Based on a predetermined conservation objective, our design shows the redesign of the immediate area around the manor house Lübzin and the adjacent park around the lake. On the one hand, this redesign is intended to promote public recreation through revival and experience. On the other hand, the historical building culture and manor landscape of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, are to be safeguarded. The design is divided into a total of four visions, which are in direct connection with each other and create a complex, new space. In addition to the intensive design of the residential area around the castle, the design pictures a modular construction of a floating bridge system around the lake, which shows the greatest possible degree of reversible design and blends in with the landscape without drowning the monument. With the new open space planning, historical visual relationships and spatial edges are to be re-experienced for the public.
