Urban Agricultural park "Cascina Fiorita"

The aim of the project is to reinforce the continuous dialogue between man and nature, showing the identity of the Genius loci among the constant activity of the first over the second, with respect and attention, for ages. The city of San Benedetto Po become the core around which specific paths are involved. These concern themes as the centennial use of the watercourses thanks to the channelling, the gastronomic product, the natural beauty of woods and the net of typical Cascine. The local thematic paths are thought keeping in mind the over locals one, as the Eurovelo 7 and the Eurovelo 8 and the Pilgrimage Path, in order to emphasise the function of crossroad of the city.

The thematic route “Terre del Po” proposes a sensibilization of the characteristics of the territory of San Benedetto Po, with a theme path that focuses mainly on aspects related to agriculture and the relationship that this has with the river Po and other elements of water, from Secchia to minor canals. This route starts from the center of the city: the Polirone Abbey. This focal element of the history and the culture of the territory has a strong relationship with the railway station, element of great historical-cultural heritage; this link is the first starting point to convey local supra realities in the local area of San Benedetto Po, thus highlighting its cultural richness. An urban park is proposed where leisure activities, sociality, culture and relationship with nature are related to the agricultural system of historical matrix.
