Jordi Bellmunt

Architect with a degree from ETSAB in 1980; he has been a professor in the Departament d’Urbanisme i Ordenació del Territori (UPC) since 1982. Professor in the Master’s Program in Landscape Architecture at the UPC since 1987. Director of the Master’s Program in Landscape Architecture (UPC) since 2000. Deputy director of the ETSAB from 1997 to 2006 and director of the Graduat Superior course in Landscape Architecture at the UPC from 2000 to 2006. Has helped organize the International Landscape Biennial of Barcelona on 9 occasions since 1999. Adviser to the Barcelona City Council and to COAC’s Oficina de Paisatge. Medalla Col•legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya 2010.Visiting professor at various universities and cultural institutions around the world since 1980. Founder together with Agata Buscemi of B2B Arquitectes.

Alfred Fndz de la Reguera

Architect. He gained his degree in Architecture at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB), specializing in Urbanism. He lectures in Projects on the master’s degree course in Landscape Architecture at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.He was awarded with the National Urbanism Prize of the Ministry of Public Works and Urbanism. He received a research grant from the Paul Getty Foundation.Construction and landscaping projects. Territorial and urban planning. Adviser of the Office of Landscape of the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC).

Marina Cervera, Executive Director

 

Licensed in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPCBarcelona Tech). Holds a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA, 2003) and a Master's degree in Urbanism Research (MIUrb, 2014) from the same university. Has been awarded multiple times with scholarships, such as the Mies van der Rohe Foundation Scholarship (Venice, Italy; 2001), the Caixa d'Arquitectes Foundation (2002), and the Villa LeNôtre Fellowship for Professional Landscape Architects in Versailles (Paris, France; 2016) at ENSPV International Residences for Landscape Architects. The latest recognition received was the appointment as the Luigi Einaudi Chair at the Institute of European Studies (IES) at Cornell University (Ithaca, USA; 2019). Her professional practice has unfolded at Ateliers Jean Nouvel (Paris), the Research and Landscape Projects Center (CRPPB led by Rosa Barba, at UPC), and, since 2003, in her own professional practice NABLABCN based in Barcelona, focusing on planning, landscaping, and architecture. She is the Executive Director of the Landscape Architecture Office at the College of Architects of Catalonia and a member of the Executive and Scientific Committee of the International Landscape Biennial of Barcelona. She is also an associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC-BarcelonaTech, affiliated with the School of Architecture (ETSAB) and the Department of Urbanism and Territorial Planning (DUOT), as well as the new degree in Landscape Architecture (ESAB + ETSAB). She has given lectures, moderated sessions, or participated as a jury at RMIT Europe, Nanjing and Chengdu University in China, AHO in Norway, Versailles in France, or POLIMI in Milan, Italy.

Member of the Scientific and Executive Committee of the Biennial since its 8th edition.

Coordination and organization of the team (from the 4th edition of the International Landscape Biennial to the current one).

Manuel Ruisánchez

Architect and landscape architect, member of the Departament d’Urbanisme i Ordenació del Territori de la UPC, professor of Landscape Architecture in ETSAV (1982-1992), Master of Landscape in UPC since 1991 and of urbanism (degree) in ETSAB since 1992. He has been a visiting professor at Washington University in St. Louis, GSD Harvard University and Facoltà di Architettura di Venezia, IUAV. He is currently Member of Culture of the Governing Board of the COAC, a member of LUB and AxA. He has been president of the international jury of the V Biennial of Landscape Barcelona and finalist in II and VI editions. Founding partner of Ruisánchez Arquitectes, working on Landscape Architecture, Urbanism and Architecture projects, he has been recognized with several awards including: Fad Architecture Prize in 1997, Catalonia Construction Award, 2005 Catalonia Social Housing Award 2007 Technal Architecture Prize in 2008, Barcelona City Award, Architecture and Urbanism 2012.

Maria Goula

Maria Goula is Associate Professor at the Landscape Architecture Department, CALS, Cornell University. She is also adjunct researcher at the Institute for Research Habitat, Territory and Tourism”, ihtt, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and University of Málaga, developing research on coastal tourism, especially in regard to the interpretation of leisure patterns and coastal dynamics. Foundation member of the International Landscape Architecture Biennial in Barcelona since 2000. Awards: Extraordinary PhD Award UPC in the field of Landscape Design theory in 2009 with her thesis  "The other landscapes; readings of the variable image", thesis Directors  Rosa Barba, M. de Solà-Morales. Leader, with Jamie Vanucchi, of the “Upstate Archipelago” team Cornell University, [advisors landscape architect Frank Talsma from H+N+S, The Netherlands, and Professor emeritus Ricard Pié]. The design team is one of the finalists for the “Reimagining the New York Canals” state design competition June 2018.

Sara Bartumeus

M.Arch. School of Architecture of Barcelona and M.L.A., UPC. Sara Bartumeus is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, US. Also teaches in Barcelona, both in the Master in Landscape Architecture-UPC (since 1997) and in the Urbanism and Territorial Planning Department-ETSAV (since 2004). She has been a researcher for the LUB-Laboratori d’Urbanisme de Barcelona and a member of the Architecture Committee-Barcelona City Council and of the Advisory Committee in Urban Planning and Landscape-COAC. As principal of Renau Bartumeus Arquitectes, her professional work has involved planning, landscape and architecture projects--social housing, public space, community facilities and exhibition design- -and has been locally and internationally exhibited, published and recognized by public competitions and awards. Her trans-disciplinary research focuses on landscape thresholds, public and collective spaces, that enhance city’s livability, foster community and collective identity and benefit environmental and social cohesion.

Anna Zahonero

Anna Zahonero Xifré, Biologist (UB) and Master of Landscape Architecture (UPC). Professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the UPC since 2001 developing, mainly, her docent assignments in landscaping, and research tasks in CRPP_ UPC. Since 1993 operates as professional in studies and the design of the landscape and the environment. Remarkable projects on landscape and ecological integration of certain uses in particular areas with strong pre-existences, the reporting on environmental for urban and regional planning and the writing of landscape projects where ecological processes are the base.

Jordi Sardà

Jordi Sardà, 1951. Architect by the ETSAB-UPC, in 1982 post graduate in Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture in 1984. DUOT teacher of all courses of Planning and Landscape Theory and History of Master Degree of Landscape Architecture (MUP). He also teaches in Public Space and is responsible for the Final Master Thesis of Master of Landscape Architecture (MAP). Between 2007 and 2014 until present, professor of Projects and Urbanism of the EAR, at URV. His doctoral thesis “Només Imatges. La targeta postal vehicle de coneixement urbà”, investigates the relationships and capabilities of visual images-postcards to establish a collective reading of landscape and city. From his studio of Reus works in architecture, urbanism and landscape  projects and intervention in the built heritage buildings and in the city.

Joan Ganyet i Solé

Born in La Seu d’Urgell in 1946. Architect. Mayor of La Seu d’Urgell from 1983 to 2003. Vice President of the Federació de Municipis de Catalunya from 1983 to 2003. President of the Comissió Interpirinenca de Poders Locals from 1985 to 2003. Secretary General of the Comunitat de Treball dels Pirineus in 2004. Member of the Parliament of Catalonia from 1980-1999. Senator from 2000-2002. General Director of Architecture and Landscape for the Departament de Política Territorial i Obres Públiques of the Generalitat de Catalunya since January 2004. Member of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi.


 

Esteve Corominas

Architect who received his degree from the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) in 1977; from 1986 to 1989, he was head of the Girona Territorial Divisions of Urban Planning of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia. He currently has his own professional practice, which works on architecture and urban planning projects. He has contributed to numerous courses, conferences, and discussions, in addition to publications, with specific focus on themes related to urban and territorial planning. He is currently director of the Landscape Office of the Association of Architects of Catalonia (COAC).

Enric Batlle i Durany

Jordi Ludevid i Anglada

Jordi Ludevid was born in Barcelona in 1950. He studied Architecture and gai-ned a Master’s degree in the Implementation of Planning Projects at the Univer-sitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and since 1975 has had a professional practice in Manresa.From 1979 to 1995, he worked as town architect for various Bages councils. From 1998 to 2002, he was President of the ASAAP of the COAC. Since 1998, he has also worked for the Heritage Park of La Sèquia in Manresa. He has written various studies and articles, and contributed to the press and specialist magazines. He has also spoken at conferences, courses and seminars on the implementation of planning projects, architecture and the environment, and regional planning.In 1997, he was awarded the Fundació Caixa Manresa Prize for his study ‘Territorial architecture, environment and urban development in the Pla de Bages’. Since May 2002, he has been President of the Barcelona Branch of the COAC, after four years as Regional Director in Bages-Berguedà.


 

Teresa Bofill i Gorina

Teresa Bofill graduated from the Arts Faculty of the University of Barcelona with a degree in General History. She set up and is now General Director of the Association of Friends of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (AAUPC), a body that currently has 4,022 associates, 262 of them companies. The Association’s mission is to create a bridge between the university and society, promoting and increasing two-way connection. Since it was founded, the AAUPC has awarded the Rosa Barba Award of the European Landscape Biennial. Previously she organised the 1st European Biennial of Cultural Heritage and was in charge of the secretariat of the Congress of Cultural Heritage and Sponsorship organized by the University of Barcelona. She also managed the firm ESTRI, Heritage and Archaeology Services.

Carles Llop i Torné

PhD Architect, Professor and Director of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Member and founder of JORNET_LLOP_PASTOR Architects, with whom he has received, amongst others, the following acknowledgment: National Planning Award 2006 from the Spanish Ministry of Housing for the plan of "La Mina" neighborhood's transformation in Sant Adrià de Besos (Barcelona). The Catalonia Prize for Urban Development 2009 for the plan of economic activity of "Ca n'Alemany" in Viladecans (Barcelona). The European Prize for Urban Development 2010 (EUROPEAN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING Achievement Award 2010), awarded by the European Council of Town Planners of Regions and the European Union for "La Mina" neighborhood's transformation in Sant Adrià de Besos (Barcelona). Planning Award of XI Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennale 2011 for the Municipal Urban Development plan of Montemeló (Barcelona).

 

 

 

 

 

 
Gerard García-Ventosa

Born in Barcelona, 1951. ETSAB-trained architect and Doctor. Professor at the ETSAB from 1977 to 1990, and guest lecturer at the Escola Massana and on different doctorate courses at the ETSAB and in La Coruña. He founded his own practice in 1977. Since 1994 he has been Director of Culture at the C.O.A.C. Finalist of CONSTRUMAT'91 award for the best new building. Among his recent works is the Purification Plant of El Maresme Nord. 



 

Rosa Barba

Barcelona, 1948-2000. She gained a doctor's degree in Architecture from the ETSAB and is currently Director of the Master's and Landscape Studies Courses at the School. ln 1971 she set up her own practice with Ricard Pié Ninot, with whom she has drawn up different urbanistic plans, studies and projects related to the Coast, Tourism and Landscape. She has organized and participated in different courses and published books and articles in specialized magazines on landscape issues and regional development. 



 

Marina Cervera Alonso de Medina

Degree in Architecture in 2003 and Higher Degree as Masters in Landscape Architecture from ETSAB (UPC). She has been awarded with several scholarships such us Mies van der Rohe Foundation (2001), Caja de Arquitectos Foundation (2002), the CRPP and Le:Notre. In 2014 she got her Master in Urban Planning (UPC). Her professional practice has been developed through Ateliers Jean Nouvel (Paris), the CRPP (UPC) and since 2003 through her own Barcelona-based professional practice involving own projects. Marina Cervera is adjunct professor for ETSAB, DUOT, teaching at MBLandArch. She also teaches in Master’s Program in Landscape Architecture (Fundació UPC) and has lectured around the world in conferences, seminars and International workshops. She is also Executive Director of the Landscape Architecture Office at the COAC, and as a Member of the Scientific Committee of the International Biennial of Landscape Barcelona. In the field of professional activism, she is Chair of Professional Practice and Policies of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), has been a local contributor to European and local institutions and is a member of several editorial boards of publications related to landscape architecture.
