A SPACE OF REFLECTION - LANDSCAPE INTERVENTION IN THE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX FEFASA IN MIRANDA DE EBRO, BURGOS

Miranda de Ebro was an important place due to its geographical situation all along the XXth century. This industrial past is reected today in the remains which are left for us to remember the old industry FEFASA (Fabricación Española de Fibras S.A). It is planned a landscape contribution to this area, opening it to the town, giving value to the industrial heritage which is kept until today. The project is born with an existentialist ideal, imagining it as a space to think about these ideas. This reection is born through a focal point (The old water reservoir ) planning round it a public square, which will stress the wished uncertainty and will organize the different ways as the meaning or the experience through which we want to had our lives. This square is organized as a windmill taking a reference the different points of the Project whether those here the remains, or the watchtower, or vegetal carpet or the milestones of the banks. The decisions taken by the spectators will lead them, rst of all, to search for the knowledge in the central unknown of the deposit motive which the reservoir sets up or try to accept the supposed reect reality and create their own way. From the outside of the reservoir is depicted an endless space (without answer) and those who make up their minds to start a way of knowledge looking for an answer inside it, they´ll nd once more a limitless space.
